When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, DimplesCharms.com dedicated all of its content across all social media platforms and email to a new series we called Hope & Helpfulness. There was a constant barrage of devastating and anxiety-inducing news published EVERYWHERE that this series was our attempt to make positivity and helpfulness more contagious than fear.

This was our first instalment. Tip #1 to Overcome Anxiety: Action.  In this fun video Patti shares a helpful tip for overcoming anxiety and not letting fear control you.

Anxiety tends to paralyse us.  We start to F.E.A.R  and False Events Appear Real.  We start to imagine terrible things and see our world and our lives with a fear based perspective. Well, one way to shake yourself out of fear-based thinking is to move. Move your body. Breathe. Wherever you are and whenever you can. Inside or outside, it doesn’t matter. Your mind cannot focus on more than one thing at a time. Start moving your body and think about what you are doing, the movement or breathing, while you do it and other thoughts will dissipate.

Fun Fact: Patti has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and Jeffrey has a B.Sc. in Microbiology, which makes this duo pretty well suited to sharing helpful info during a pandemic. Who would have known that the two founders of a jewellery company had these skills up their sleeves?
