Summer is the perfect time to grab a photo of your kids chasing bubbles or jumping high up in the air on the beach! We’ve collaborated with this unique Tampa based photographer for the month of August to bring our facebook and instagram followers a taste of moments in the making.

dananicolephotoPhotographer Dana DiSalvo of Dana Nicole Photography captures life’s precious moments in Tampa, Florida for both locals and travellers on a regular basis, “Many people vacation here to get away from their lives and to enjoy our warm weather. We have endless miles of sugary sand beaches and since we are on the west coast of Florida, the sunsets are amazing!”

“I love being able to freeze time to remember all of the little moments that make my heart full.”

Dana works with a lot of out clients who are travelling to Tampa and who want to document their vacation with a photo session.

As a mom of three little girls, ages 6 and under, Dana knows that time goes by far too quickly. “I love being able to freeze time to remember all of the little moments that make my heart full.”

She tells a story of when her family recently took their own vacation to the beach and she captured a candid image at sunset.

“My husband was twirling my oldest daughter around in her favorite dress at sunset. This was my favorite image of the entire vacation because the look on her face while she looks at her daddy just melts me. It’s the emotional connection that I strive to capture, and this particular image displayed it perfectly.”

You’ll have the opportunity to view some of Dana’s work this month through our Dimples Moments collection on social media. Hope you enjoy!

Here’s a little bit more about Dana from our interview:

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN PHOTOGRAPHY?
I got started in photography when my mother (who is also very much into photography) gave me my first DSLR camera for an early Christmas present. I was about to go on my first real out of state trip to Colorado to go skiing for the first time. It was also the first time I’d ever seen snow! I’ve lived in Florida my entire life, so this was a big deal for me and she wanted me to be able to capture it properly. While my now husband and I were there, I took pictures of everything! The beauty of the snow just captivated me and I wanted to remember everything about it: how it sparkled on the ground, blanketed the cars, and fell delicately from the sky. So that’s what started my passion, but what really ignited the fire more was the birth of our first daughter. Everyday she changed and did something different and I wanted to document it all!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?
My favorite type of photography captures emotional and candid moments between my subjects. That’s why my main focus is families, children, and maternity. Seeing how excited a mommy and daddy-to-be are to meet their little one and to witness the love they share for one another during this very special time in their life is very special to me. When I shoot families, I love focusing on the interactions of family members because I feel like the “in-between”moments after the posed shots are what matter the most. That’s what makes each family unique. During children sessions, I love capturing their innocence and their little blooming personalities.
